The sequel to "Batman Begins" also received an award for its two leading actors, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, for their on-screen match-up. Aside from the Favorite On-Screen Match-Up prize, Bale, who portrays the bat-costumed superhero Batman as well as his alter ego Bruce Wayne in the action movie, has also nabbed a Favorite Superhero title.

Writer/director David Goyer (Blade: Trinity, The Invisible, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) is a filmmaker who has long balanced the world of the smartest, hippest and most obscure comic books and otherworldly realms of superheroes and fantastical characters with his passion for telling character-driven stories. In his new film, the supernatural thriller The Unborn, he offers a terrifying glimpse into the life of the undead when a young woman is pulled into a world of nightmares where a demonic spirit haunts her and threatens everyone she loves. Universal and Rogue Pictures have done a great job of supplying us a bunch of new images from 13 of their 17 upcoming films in 2009. Of course we have images from all 17 films, but only 20 of them are brand spanking new. Of the films listed below I am most anticipating Michael Mann's Public Enemies and the Paul Greengrass thriller Green Zone. However, there are other films to make sure you keep on your radar including the Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck political thriller State of Play, Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell with Alison Lohman, the horror remake The Wolfman with Tony Hopkins and Benicio del Toro as the Wolfman and I am also curiously interested in Cirque Du Freak, a strange vampire fantasy feature directed by Paul Weitz (In Good Company and About a Boy) adapted from the 12-book children's series by Darren Shan. All the cast, director and

For the past decade or so we've been proud to shell out our ten bucks to the movie house to watch Tobey Maguire and Christian Bale kick ass in spandex, because seriously, it's Tobey Maguire and Christian Bale in Spandex, but we deserve more than that. Male superheroes are great and I'll watch as many movies about them as the studios can shell out, but at the same time, attending the very same movies to see women reduced to the obligatory role of shrieking damsel in distress has been less than inspiring. Not to mention how it must look to the outside community

This was an absolutely crazy year in movies, and my best list was never such a confused and difficult task. If I were going for a worst list, I could make it about 50 without any problem, and I could tell you the exact order I'd want them in. I don't think I'll even bother with it this year, but the absolute worst is The Love Guru, followed closely by Indiana Jones and The Triple Dog Dare You To Fit Something Into This Movie That Would Make It More Stupid. Before I get on to this list, I've really got to explain it. Generally, when I make my top ten list for the year, I start out by making a much too large list of everything I liked during the year. This usually gives me something like 30-40 movies, because I put in things that even I think are only slightly above-average.
