Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .

Sex & Nudity

None.

Violence & Gore

The Joker has paint over his face and around his mouth. He has two razor-cut scars that are swollen. (we don't see him get them because this occurs prior to the storyline of the movie).

An impostor Batman is hanged from the side of a building and pops out in front of a window while a man looks through it (jump moment). When the body hits the window after being hanged, we see a bloody smear on the glass from the blood on his face from where the clown man has cut it open. This scene is random, and comes in near silence. You aren't expecting it, so it startles you.

A man is dropped from a building and we see his legs break, but he doesn't die. Also, we can hear a crunching noise, which is very disturbing to some viewers.

A man takes 3 or 4 people by the throat and holds a knife to them harshly, before KILLING them. A man rips through the side of the man's mouth. We don't see the actual event or aftermath.

A man's head is slammed into a pencil resting vertically in a desk.

There is an intense bank robbery scene. Many of the criminal thugs involved betray and murder each other, and the bank manager is shot in the leg and has a grenade put in his mouth.

A man is seen stitching his arm after being bitten by big dogs.

A man is found to have a bomb surgically implanted into his body; scar is graphic, and you see the bomb's light inside of him.

A man reveals a knife attached to his shoe, which slides out and stabs another man when kicking him. Nothing graphic.

Many people are shot throughout the film with all manner of guns, none are graphic.

There is a car chase sequence where a man shoots at some police cars; he later uses a rocket launcher to take them out.

A man has his face burned.

A hospital is blown up.

Profanity

Standard PG-13 fare spread every now and then, "a--", "SOB", etc.

A man is seen smoking. In many scenes people are seen smoking and drinking wine and alcohol at parties which is completely abnormal.

A man dressed as a Batman fights off and wrings the necks of rabid dogs in a few sequences, which may be considered disturbing to some.

The Joker could be very frightening to young viewers, with his voice, his laugh, the way he kills people, and even the way he looks. He is a very intense character and throughout the movie makes several violent threats that are very implicative or disturbing for a PG-13 movie and could disturb some people. There is also very intense music that plays anytime the Joker is about to strike. The film is very intense with many fights, car chases, explosions, etc. The final battle is very intense.

A character is very frightening and disgusting as we see his face catch fire and he is screaming. The left half of his face is horribly burned and scarred, you can see his teeth through his cheek, he is almost like a skull with charred skin, his eye would be the most bothering as it looks out of place. It looks like it is popping out of his head because his eyeball is unharmed but his face has sunken in, and may be frightening to young children or those that are easily disturbed.

A man with a severely scarred face comes very close to shooting a police commissioner's little boy.

The Joker holds many people hostage. All of those scenes can be a bit disturbing.

The Joker blows up several buildings (including an entire hospital, but with all of the patients and doctors evacuated) and lights many things on fire.

The Joker gives two boats detonators to blow the other boat up, and the two boats have to decide which one lives, this can be very intense as people on both boats give serious contemplation to the notion of blowing the other boat up.

Rachel Dawes is killed in an explosion set off by the Joker. We see the building go down in a fiery heap.

This is a very dark movie. Not your average superhero movie.
